Thank you so much for visiting my site. My love for writing all began when I was a moody 8th grader at bonneville Junior high. I was taking honors English and our teacher Ms. Nowlin had us write poetry for an assignment. I genuinely used to bum around in English class because I never had an English teacher that meant business up until this point. She kind of scared me so I made sure to come up with something real and not just Plagiarize with song lyrics from the radio! I went to the public library and just started typing away. I made a couple of edits and thought
“huh- that was kind of a silly poem. Whatever- Poetry is subjective. I never know what poetics are saying half the time. I should be fine for full points.”
I turned it in and then the worst thing happened. Ms. Nowlin said the next morning in class, “Class, I am just blown away. I’ve never read something so beautiful in my life. I’m going to read it out loud and then I will tell you who wrote it.” She goes on to read verbatim my poem and from that day I became a writer whether I Liked it or not.
