Young Living

The young adult life. My God-my brain is getting put to WORK!

I’ve learned so much !

This is the last SLP grad photo I upload, I promise šŸ˜‰
I hope my grad school buddies are doing well šŸ™‚ went by so fast!

I’m currently in my CFY, and it’s going well! I don’t want to share too much because I am deathly afraid of being accused of a HIPAA violation. If you know, you know! So, that’s all I’m going to say about that!

Let’s see what else happened…

I recently watched the popular film ā€œForrest Gumpā€ for the first time in March, and it made an impact on me. It made me reflect that life really is that simple if you let it. I think we put too much mental pressure on random little things- when in the end, what’s actually necessary is to let go and keep moving.

Stagnation is the enemy- overthinking is its catalyst.

When I went home to visit my family in Salt Lake County, I played the movie for my parents, and they loved it too. My mom found Forrest endearing and sweet. My dad found Forrest selfless and considerate of others. I found Forrest caring and sensitive.

It almost makes me wonder… our favorite qualities of Forrest- do we subconsciously pick our favorite qualities that we see in ourselves? Think about it, what are your top two favorite qualities about Forrest? Do they remind you of… you?

Forrest was a simple man and he was human just like us. He went through life and we, the audience, got to see the range of emotions he processed – grief, love, unwavering hope, disappointment, excitement and more. Perhaps because Forrest was so real without a facade- we see the life we wish we had the courage to live? A life with no filter and no concern of what others think of us? … I’m not sure, but for a movie about a guy with low IQ- it’s had me thinking about deep life questions more than anything else recently lol. Life is oddly counterintuitive. Sometimes, less is more.

Let’s see, what else is new? I got a part time job during the winter at my local ski resort so that I could make some new friends nearby and also get better at skiing. Skiing has been a passion project for the past few years, I think I’m addicted. Anyway, I had lots of fun! and made many new friends I hope to see again soon. We had parties, movie nights and went out to Park City Main Street a couple of times for drinks and karaoke.
