* a house in Tapalpa*
Hello, so this is it! The end of my Mexico trilogy. I’m a little sad to leave but I’m so grateful that I was able to be here for 3 weeks. The experiences I learned have taught me so much about myself and about my family. My last week was a little calmer than my previous ones. It all started in a town called Tapalpa.

On Sunday
We went to Tapalpa.
Tapalpa is about a 2 hour drive from Guadalajara. There are lots of flowers growing from peoples windows and there are a lot of trees. It’s really green.

I’m all for trees and flowers. I found Tapalpa to be very peaceful.
Later my cousin, sister and I went on a little trail to see Las Piedrotas. Las piedrotas translates to “The huge rocks”. It started to rain a lot and people started to leave. We’re crazy though and marched up there with an umbrella anyway.

On Monday
My cousin, sister and I returned to my grandparents. We went to a town called Zacoalco. They had little shops set up there. They were selling of a little bit of everything: pots, pans, shoes and really spicy corn. On our way back we stopped to eat. For my drink I decided to order a Diet Coke. I miss my Diet Coke by the way, it’s not very common here.

In Mexico Diet Coke is called Coca Light. So if you want Diet Coke you’re going to have to ask for Coca Light. My Diet Coke somehow tasted better here in Mexico than in the US. Weird how that works?
On Tuesday
My uncle took drove us to Villa Corona again. It was really hot so we all sat under this really big tree. As I was day dreaming I felt a fat raindrop on my right forearm. Seconds later it hit me that a bird had just POOPED on me! My grandparents couldn’t stop laughing and neither could I. I’ve heard that it’s good luck if a bird poops on you. I think of this as a win-win situation. The bird gets to poop on a human and laugh and I get good luck and a good laugh.

Also France beat Belgium! I’m excited to watch the final on Sunday. Allez les bleus!
On Wednesday
My Grandma took all of us walking to the Plaza.

*walking*
then we bought some really good mango and watermelon.

On Thursday
My uncle invited all of us to play basketball and soccer at a near by park. It was so fun. We played until the sun went down. Then we walked to my great grandma’s house talk to her for a little while.

On Friday
My uncle took us to Cocula one last time. I bought a fruit/vegetable cup. It was cool because the fruit/vegetable were peeled like spaghetti. The layers were Jicama, mango, cucumber then beet. Did you know that beets have the highest sugar content of all vegetables? No wonder it was so good.

To finish our night we went back to say goodbye to my great grandma, my uncles, aunts and cousins. It was so bitter sweet. I can’t wait to see them again.
On Saturday
I went home.

*the Bingham Canyon Mine*
I loved this trip for so many reasons. I think my favorite one of all is because I got to know where half of my family comes from. It was more emotional than I thought it was going to be. Nevertheless I can’t wait to come back soon!
Thank you so much for reading!
